Here’s another episode of Coffee and Cartoons with Kornflake. This one is very heavy on Girlyman (and with good reason)!
Podcasts for March, 2007
Here is a Friday edition of Thinking Out Loud with co-hosts Lynne Lupien and Charlotte Crockford. The sound quality is a little off, since it was recorded from the radio rather than the online stream, but it’s not too bad, all things considered. The subject matter was volunteer opportunities for older Lowell area residents.
This guest-podcast of Campus Buzz has abysmal sound quality. Our phone service was out and I recorded it from the radio (35 miles from Lowell). The sound quality of the middle third of the show is unlistenable, but the beginning and end are OK.
Another Hodgeheg, including most of the songs and poems that are listed on the Spinitron playlist. Anne Tabbush, Anne Feeney, Nada Prem, Animal Collective, Sufi Choir, Blue Murder, Finest Kind, Hutchinson Family Singers… new music from Alice DiMicele and Seize the Day, Winter Flowers, Deborah Holland  … and more!
Here is another Wednesday episode of Thinking Out Loud, with co-host Jim Giddings
Here is a lively and informative edition of Thinking Out Loud in Spanish, with co-hosts Lindolfo Carballo, Miguel Lopez and Marcos Brito. Includes an interview with a woman who has been working with the detainees (and their children) who were caught up int he ICE raid at the clothing factory in New Bedford a couple of weeks ago and a wonderfully informative interview with a professor from El Salvador on the turbulent history of that country.

Here is a second “guest podcast” posting from the WUML student-run public affairs political program “The Way the Wind Blows” with Nate, which airs Mondays at 4:00 p.m. I apologize for missing the initial 35 minutes of the show. In addition to the usual commentary from contemporary and historical black and radical commentators (Mumia Abu Jamal, Howard Zinn, etc.) it includes live recordings of this past weekend’s anti-war demonstrations in Washington DC, complete with ominous helicopter sounds trying to drown out the speakers’ voices. We need to hear directly from the voices that are now calling for action to stop this adminstration’s insane and illegal policies (Hodgeheg’s opinion), and not just from the belittling commentators in the mainstream and NPR media. This is the kind of radio that we need more of, and it’s one of the reasons that we need independent student governance of this radio station. The show also publicizes a call for a student-faculty strike by the Student Socialist Alliance for May. Stay tuned!
Here is another Monday episode of Thinking Out Loud in English with co-hosts Dan Toomey and David Tierney.
This is another Khmer language segment of Thinking Out Loud, courtesy of the folks at the Cambodian Mutual Assistance Association of Lowell (CMAA). [ The podcast won't be ready until sometime after 1:00 pm today, so please check back after that time to listen ]
