Kornflake is back! This week’s show includes a few songs on a piratical theme, a contest to write a stanza for an inane pop song, and a weekly love song that is somewhat (how shall I put this?) indecorous. And the new Great Luke Ski album “Baconspiracy ” makes its WUML debut. So fill your cup, pull up a sofa, and listen in!
(the first ten minutes or so of the recording are part of the preceding show, which lacks CoffeeandCartoons qualities. I may get around to re-posting the show without those minutes, but for now, just have patience or fast-forward, whichever is most congenial to your nature)

This is probably the last of this Summer’s run of Hodgehegs. We feature new music from Woven Wheat Whisper’s new giant compilation “John Barleycorn Reborn”, which focuses on British cultural traditions, songs and stories revolving around the figure of John Barleycorn, a symbol of Birth, Death, and Rebirth associated with the Vanir family of Norse gods, and with ancient traditions honoring the natural world and its rhythms. Of course we play lots of favorites from other sources, including Cathie, Gregg Weiss, Utah Phillips, Devendra Banhart, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Martha Tilston and PinknRuby. Also a selection from another of Woven Wheat Whisper’s new releases “Rebellion” by an ad-hoc group called “1549″, recreating the events of a seminal moment in the history of people’s revolts.
