Here is a Wednesday edition of Thinking Out Loud in English with co-host Jim Giddings. We discuss the recent events in Gaza, among other things. Partway through the hour the transmitter failed.
Hodgeheg (or Hodgheg as he is sometimes known) popped his head back up today to play a few tunes for you. Will Kindler is a young local psych-folk talent that Hodgeheg just happened to run into last Saturday. If you like Bob Dylan or Devendra Banhart (or the Incredible string Band for that matter), you’ll appreciate this versatile performer. We also hear from both Davyd and Ayla Nereo (of Beatbeat Whisper), the Beers Family, Martha Tilston, Mor Karbasi, Hearth, and more!

In this week’s Wednesday Thinking Out Loud, we spend a good portion of the hour talking about the Japanese whaliing ship’s kidnap of two Sea Shepherd anti-whaling volunteers, whom they intend to prosecute as eco-terrorists in Japan. Japan is the only significant practitioner of whaling in the world, and it uses “scientific research” to justify a massive slaughter of whales for food, in violation of international agreements and Australian law. (visit http://www.seashepherd.org/ for more details)
Hodgeheg popped up again on Wednesday the 16th of January with a whole lot of music from old friends. There were two more songs from (Full Cold Moon’s) Marybeth Hallinan’s new double-CD set “I Sing”, along with new (to us) music from (Beatbeat Whisper’s) Ayla Nereo’s “Sing Me a Time” solo album and Davyd Nereo’s two solo albums under the name “That Blasted Hound”, and a song from Mor Karbasi’s new “Rosa” EP. Also music from Ash Reiter, Coope/Boyes/Simpson, FFynnon, Adrienne Jones (of Mad Agnes) and more. We played Democracy NOw as the second hour of the show so the podcast is only about an hour long.
Here are the last couple of songs from today’s live in-studio performance by Brendan Asquith, who performs regularly at the singer-songwriters night at Sangria’s ( http://www.lowellrocks.com/venue/sangrias ).

Here is a Friday episode of Thinking Out Loud with co-hosts Charlotte Crockford and Lynne Lupien. Today they chat about recent local events and about the Presidential campaign in the wake of the surprising New Hampshire Primary outcome.
Hodgeheg pops up with a show including a preview of the new double CD by Marybeth Hallinan of Full Cold Moon, due for release later this winter. Otyher music from Beatbeat Whisper, Ash Reiter, Juana Molina, Martha Tilston, Lou and Peter Berryman, Winter Flowers, Seize the Day, Coope Boyes and Simpson, and more.
