Hodgeheg was granted a reprieve this week and took advantage of it by staging a short show on a campus bristling with students, faculty, and angry drivers. Hopefully some of the music calmed the situation a little. Probably next week there will be student programming on Wednesday from noon to 2:00, but who knows?

Music includes local singer Charo Sofia, who was at the Lawrence Bread and Roses Festival on Monday (along with two generations of her female ancestors), Rosalie Sorrells, who headlined the festival, Lat Tuza, who will be performing at the Fair Trade Festival on Middle Street in Lowell Saturday. Something from British singer Jo Freya’s brand-new album “Female Smuggler”, something from Kirsty McGee’s new album “The Kansas Sessions”, a track from delightful Mary-Poppins lookalike British singer-songwriter Alessi’s “Bedroom Boud” EP, Ayla Nereo, Joe Jencks, Olivia Chrestomanci, and Juana Molina.
The last two hours of the show were actually two hours of Democracy Now, and most of the music was played at the start of the show. Democracy Now was not included in the podcast, but it’s available at http://www.democracynow.org/ .
